The people at Google have got together with CERN, LEGO, National Geographic and Scientific American to creat the world’s frist global science competition. They are inviting anyone aged between 13-18 to enter and compete for some amazing once-in-a-lifetime experiences, scholarships and real-life work opportunities.
This video has managed to get 3m+ views in less than 4 days without any budget it features some old French farmers with “light sabers” !
It is in fact the work of Mathieu Cuvalier and Dan Scott, Mathieu spotted the clip of the fighting farmers a couple of months ago and his viral mind came up with light sabers!
Then Dan had the painstaking task of adding the lightsabers frame-by-frame by hand as the video quality was too poor for auto-tracking.
All in all a very successful piece of work getting massive coverage with just a bit of social and email spreading.
This is a great idea from the New York Times to bring more views to Banners this interactivity is iPad only at the moment maybe we will see an android version soon.
