Google Street View Comes to UK (Featuring Happydude)…
I have been waiting ages for this moment - although totally geeky - its true I am on Google Street View looking out of my window, what are the odds on that.
I saw the car last year so took a snap and he took one back
But seriously the streetview feature is great you can even check out my home...
This video shows some great footage from a camera attached to a weather balloon that rises up into the upper stratosphere and records the sights to be seen, it is all part of this project the brooklyn space program they even put an iphone in there to make sure they get it back (watch it to the end to see if they do).
Well what an interesting insight into the “internet of things” the connection of networks and the evolution of technology to help us build better lives and and sustainable one!
David Orban of Wide Tag gives an insight in how all the technology that surrounds us now and is in development will help build a better world!

I love the graph on “anthropocence” (12:02) where we were 10,000 years ago and where we are now (1% to 98% ) WOW!
Some interesting insights at the end in the Q&A section as well.
The Story of Bottled Water video which was released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand and how it gets Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.
Well talk about waiting for a bus and two come along; following on from the earlier “Google Liquid Galaxy” post spotted this video from TED 2010 featuring Blaise Aguera y Arcas who is an architect at Microsoft Live Labs and the co-creator of Photosynth.
Here he demos augmented-reality with Bing and shows some amazing features the show stopper being the live broadcast video footage he also talks about some more features including “time travel” no not Doctor Who but the facility to overlay images from the past with current, I think they may also have one up on Google with their “back pack camera” which enables street view inside.
All very impressive and expecting many more great things from both camps with their augmented and 3D offerings.
