Following on from the post the other day and how print maybe needs to look at their business models especially online, then Rupert Murdoch goes and confirms that all News International sites will soon start to charge for content!

What smacks of corporate lunacy looks like bringing major benefits to bloggers and other independent publishers as surely people will source there content from these instead of the fee based print moguls.

A bit of an old post but one I think should be distributed to all; Fred Dupont just reminded me about it on twitter.

It is basically from an article from GENI (Global Environment for Network Innovations ) and if correct, a 200 miles square collects sufficient solar energy to power ALL human activity.

More detail and some numbers can be found here on Fred’s blog but it is pretty amazing and surely something that we all should be looking at especially when it is do able “today” with the technology / resources we currently have!!

The above video features Capt. Charles Moore of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation who first discovered the Great Pacific Garbage Patch which is an endless floating waste of plastic trash. He can be seen here at a recent TED talk drawing attention to the growing, choking problem of plastic debris in our seas.
